What Happens at a Rehearsal

Every Thursday rehearsal runs for two hours and opens with a warm-up and vocal development – technique comes first, not just singing through songs. We work from full choral scores in four-part harmony rather than lyric sheets, seated, in a focused but light-hearted room. You won't be asked to dance or to memorise everything. Around 80% of our members learnt to read music after joining, so sight-reading is genuinely not a requirement.

Where Our Aylesbury Singers Perform

Aylesbury members have performed at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre, with a concert at St Mary's Church in Aylesbury and Choir of Man at the Waterside among our 2026/27 projects. That sits alongside the wider choir programme: Cadogan Hall, the Royal Academy of Music, Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, Abbey Road Studios, Disneyland California, the Berlin Philharmonie and Chase Field Stadium in Arizona, plus tours to Finland and Hong Kong.

Getting to Our Aylesbury Rehearsals

We rehearse at Aylesbury Grammar School on Walton Road, close to the town centre, which puts us within easy reach of Wendover, Weston Turville, Stone, Bierton, Haddenham, Princes Risborough, Thame and Tring. Your membership also covers our Marlow and St Albans rehearsals, so you can sing up to three times a week at no extra cost.

Membership and Joining

Membership is £58.50 a month by Direct Debit with no long-term contract. That covers around 40 two-hour rehearsals a year – we run all year round, not just in term time – plus workshops, joint and project rehearsals, online learning resources and socials. Discounts are available for students in full-time education. There's no audition to come along to a taster session; if you decide to join afterwards, we'll arrange a friendly 5–10 minute voice review to find your part.
